Our little artist!

Hello all!  I hope you are all doing well! I caught Daniel with a crayon today!  I told him to only draw on paper but if he had we wouldn't have found this awesome picture he drew on the mirror!
This is by far the best picture he's drawn but he is always coming up with awesome drawing.

Here are are few more photos for your enjoyment.  The two with David and Daniel is when we went on a drive up the nebo loop a few weeks ago, and the other is from a campy commercial David and I worked on that was star trek themed.  I got to do klingon, vulcan and andorian special effects makeup.

Crafty weekend!

This is what I've been doing on my weekend to kinda get out of the kitchen mess and take my mind off things in there. It's going well by the way.
So this first pic is a pom pom necklace I made, it's from the same material I used in Linzy's room to make her fabric board. I had left over scraps so I got to use them.
This pic is just some fabric i got in a grab bag from the DI, I put the floral fab in the pic so you could see what it looks like before it's turned into a pretty flower! I like the colors, not the fab. This purple combo would be cute on a white t-shirt or a cardigan... endless poss!
This material looks like Jean material but it's really silky! This would dress up a t-shirt and jeans! I still need to trim off the white felt on the back so you won't see any of that, and add either chain or ribbon ties or clasps to them...
This is lace w/feather cuff, These are really popular at the boutiques here in Utah. I found a tutorial on how to make them.
This black and blue on we made to match a sunday dress ashley just got. She loved the idea so we made this one last night.

So when we came up with the idea to make our own, we decided to go to the DI, we found a bag a little bigger than a wal-mart bag full of mostly lace and a little bit of fabric! We were so excited! Then we went to Savors and found quart size bags of just lace and bought them all! 5 or 6 I think. We also found a few pieces of vintage looking costume jewelry, beads and necklaces to take apart. We still need more so we'll keep our eyes open for more.
What fun we are having!

Pigvan Rides Again!

Pigvan has awoken from a coma of 12 months, where it resided in our driveway, to take its rightful place on the road. Under the masterful hand of pig-surgeon Dr. Drew, all the pieces have been replaced just right and it's up and roaring. Because it roars. Not purrs. Not hums. Roars. There's something thrilling about driving a very powerful and very loud machine.

Update

We've been in our new place about three weeks, and we've got everything unpacked except for Drew's office, the garage, and the wall hangings. I feel like that is an enormous feat, and I'm proud of myself. I even disposed of the furniture we couldn't fit in the house, and all the moving boxes to some grateful people on craigslist. Those free ads are the best. The people came so quick!
The neighborhood is pretty cool, and seems fairly relaxed. I have a reeeeally cool neighbor across the street. She come and goes freely, as does her 4 year old son. Just what a wanted in a neighbor. I have another not-so-nice neighbor, but we won't talk about her.
I've been doing a diet with Becky and Drew, called feeling great in eight. So far, it's working well! We've been eating healthier and exercising together. It's great! Becky, I still need to check in with you!
That's about all I'm up to nowadays!

Kitchen remodel... To be cont...

The girls got to help paint the kitchen before the cabinets were put in. I really appreciated their help and they had fun!
This is my MAGNETIC WALL! That's right you can paint on a magnetic wall, so we put it on the fridge wall since our fridge isn't magnetic.... We'll have to let you know how that turns out and if it works well.
This is our beautiful new sink Eric just put in! I love love love it!

I don't know if you can see it well enough, but this is showing the countertop and the bevelled edge Eric added to make it look nice :). Yay!

More coming soon!!! Hopefully we finish today!

Living in organized Chaos!

So we are coming to an end with the Kitchen Demolition. We had a few friends over last night and got it all out! Thanks to Matty, David, Rob and Jason (neighbor) who just stopped by. Kevin came by and got most of the tile and carpet out with Jesse last week, and then Arieh, Marcie and Eddy came over after and helped get the rest and take out the base boards. Friends and family are amazing!
David and Becky also came over and helped me paint Linzy's room PINK! Thanks guys, it's perfect!

Sewing Projects

So my niece had her baby shower yesterday. She has a 2 year old little boy Ender, and is now expecting a baby girl Scarlett. I made my car seat cover ALL BY MY SELF! It was the first thing I had ever sewn so I am very proud of it. I decided since I know how to sew the cover, I'd make one for Qait, my niece. I also ended up making a nursing cover and covering a baby wipes box. I think they turned out sooo cute!!

It's Actually Happening!

To start out, I just want to say that our trip out to Utah was the best vacation EVER! Thank you guys so much for a wonderful time. I'm glad we were able to be a part of Jesse and Anne's new house, letting all the cousins play together, going to our favorite restaurants, and all in all just hanging out. I was sad to leave! We miss you guys! Drew will probably be visiting in September on business. It will be a quick visit, but long enough to say hello. I won't be able to come , though.

Moving on...

Our house hunt is actually coming to a close this week! We close on Thursday and move on Saturday! Woo Hoo! I can't believe it's actually happening. We've been hunting for so long, it seemed like it would never end.
The thing I'm super excited about is de-junking. I finally am getting around to getting rid of all my excess junk. I feel so free! I'll have a garage sale to get rid of it, complete with a lemonade stand manned by Kylie.
The only sad part is that Ben and Drew's birthday have been totally eclipsed by the move. Ben turned 2 recently, and Drew will turn 28 tomorrow. Oh well. We will make up for it by having a rockin' party for them next month.
Wish us luck! This is a big step for us. I wish you all could be here to share in our joy!

It's Berry Season!

Does anyone remember this book, "Jamberry?" It's told from the magical perspective of a little child, which I love. I also thought it would be fun to retell it from the perspective of a mom of three little magical mess children.

One Berry, Two Berry
Mom bought some blueberries

Van Berry, Purse Berry
Even in Daddy's Murse Berry

Under the Seats, All over the Van
Eating the Berries right out of the can

(David the) Gnome Berry, Roam Berry,
Eat them at home Berry

Spill Berry, Kill Berry
Rugs are a Pill Berry

Stain Berry, Pain Berry
It will remain Berry

Cry Berry, Sigh Berry
Carpet cleaner to buy Berry

Rug Berry, Vile Berry
Time to get Tile Berry!

Hockey Season!

We love going to Jesse's Hockey games! Last night Linzy watched them skate back and forth, back and forth! It was so cute!
Jesse's team is called "Roadkill" we don't like cheering that name but oh well, sometimes we yell "Go Red"!

They are doing well this season, we have a decent goalie! That always helps!
Maybe we could all go to a game when you guys get here! Fun Fun!

Sleeping on the job!

This is my hard working babsitter at work! Just kidding, Brynlee is great, we love and appreciate all she does. She and Linzy needed a nap tho, they had a long night!

Shooting BB Guns

We decided it would be fun to take the girls out in the mountains and shoot BB Guns! They loved it! Jesse has his gun but he bought one for the girls to use, an easier one for the little girls to shoot. We are now saving cans and milk jugs to shoot at! We won't talk about the birdie Jesse shot at.... lol

More Recent Photos

Here's Ben on the Spring horsie. He is his father's son. Drew used to ride on of those until he broke the springs!

Drew and Anna Banana

Ben and our new coffee maker. How ironic is that? We got a play kitchen complete with appliances, and the coffee maker was the only one with batteries.

Some Recent Photos

Left: Drew pushing our awesome double stroller on a family walk. We've hit the point where perfect strangers will smile sympathetically at us as they drive by, as if to say "I remember those days..."

Right: Me, remembering to take more pictures of myself.

Left: Kylie mastering her mad bike skills with her new bell and basket.

Right: Anna wrapped up in my baby blanket. What a sweet pic! It's come full circle. That blanket has seen a lot of love.

Bottom: Anna riding the spring horsie at Easter. Thanks Grandpa!

Mimi's First Kill

Mimi, our remaining dog, has killed her first animal. However, she is not the ruthless killer that that might lead you to believe. She stumbled upon the scent of a mouse and followed it, thinking she had found a new playmate. And so she did, for about 15 minutes. She had fun pawing at it and chasing it. She would lose it's trail, then find it again. After a few minutes of that, the mouse could take no more and gave up the ghost.
Kylie even went out and watched her stalk the mouse. Kylie was so intrigued, she wanted to bring the dead mouse inside and put it in Mimi's doggie dish. Ew. Ew. Ew. Obviously, I said no. But I had a hard time prying Kylie away from the scene.
Mimi's a playful little dog. Too bad her playfulness ends up being torture for the little animals she finds in the yard. She loves them to death.

The Springville Art Ball

Jesse and Anne invited us to the Springville Art Ball this year.  It was catered by Chefs Table (an expensive fancy local restaurant)  They had a photo booth to get Prom like photos and of course dancing.  Jesse and Anne hit the dance floor while David and I looked at art and did a little art project.  All in all a lovely evening.  The girls watched Daniel for us :).  Thanks Jesse and Anne!
